Photograph areas you are concerned about and explain any changes you have noticed. Bring records of the existing finish, previous resurfacing and any earlier assessment if they are available.
Appearance alone does not define the right scope. Ask what needs to be assessed before choosing a new finish and whether tile, coping or other work should be considered at the same time.

Choose an actual material for the project

Ask what the chosen finish includes and how it relates to your tile and coping selections. Do not make the decision from a generic lifespan table or a claim that one surface is best for every pool.
Discuss the work and handover together
Before agreeing to the work, confirm the preparation, selected finish and any adjacent changes in the written scope. Ask for the applicable startup and care instructions and discuss responsibility for ongoing care.
If a warranty is offered for your selected work or product, ask which party provides it and what it covers. Keep the terms for the selected finish and work with the project documents.
