Pool Installation
Our Process
Step 1
Excavation, Rebar, Plumbing and Gas Line Installation
Excavation & Plumbing Installation
Once the excavation is complete, plumbing lines are installed. These lines include water supply and return lines, as well as drainage pipes.
Rebar Placement
Rebar, short for reinforcing bar, is a crucial component for reinforcing the concrete structure of the pool. This reinforcement adds strength and durability to the pool’s structure.
Gas Line Installation
If the pool will have a gas-powered heater or other gas-powered features, such as fire pits or grills, gas lines are installed during this phase.
Inspection
Once the dirtwork, plumbing, rebar, and gas lines are in place, an inspection is conducted to ensure that everything meets local building codes and safety standards.

Step 2
Shotcrete Application
Preparation
Before applying shotcrete, the pool’s excavation and plumbing work should be completed. The rebar reinforcement should be in place and properly secured to provide structural strength to the pool.
Mixing
Shotcrete is a mixture of cement, aggregates (such as sand or small stones), and water. These components are mixed in precise proportions to achieve the desired consistency and strength.
Application
Shotcrete is applied using a high-pressure hose or nozzle. It is pneumatically projected onto the pool’s surfaces, such as the walls and the floor.
Shaping and Finishing
As the shotcrete is applied, pool builders shape and sculpt it to create the desired contours and features. Finishing touches can be done to achieve the desired texture and appearance.
Curing
Curing typically involves keeping the concrete surface moist by covering it with plastic sheeting or using a curing compound. This process allows the shotcrete to harden.
Waterproofing and Surface Treatments
A waterproofing membrane or coating is applied to prevent water penetration. Surface treatments, such as tile or plaster finishes, may also be added to enhance appearance & durability.

Step 3
Hardscaping and coping are added to the pool
Preparation
The construction team prepares the area where the coping and hardscape will be installed. This involves cleaning the surface, ensuring proper drainage, and leveling the ground as needed.
Coping Installation
The coping material, such as natural stone, pavers, or concrete, is carefully installed around the perimeter of the pool. Proper alignment and spacing achieves a consistent appearance.
Hardscape Construction
This may involve laying pavers or concrete for pathways, decks, or patio areas surrounding the pool. The chosen materials are installed according to the design plan.
Finishing Touches
This can include the installation of outdoor furniture, decorative elements, planters, or lighting fixtures to create an inviting and enjoyable space.
Clean-up and inspection
Once the coping and hardscape installation is finished, the construction site is cleaned up, and any debris or excess materials are removed. A thorough inspection is conducted.

Step 4
Waterline and Step Tiles
Preparation
Before beginning the installation, the pool surface where the waterline and step tiles will be placed should be clean, dry, and free from any debris or contaminants.
Tile Selection
There are various options available, including ceramic, glass, porcelain, or natural stone tiles, each with its own aesthetic and functional characteristics.
Measurement & Layout
Precise measurements are taken to determine the placement and spacing of the waterline and step tiles. This helps ensure a visually appealing and symmetrical installation.
Adhesive Application
A suitable adhesive or mortar is applied to the back of each tile using a notched trowel. The adhesive is carefully spread to ensure proper coverage and adherence to the pool surface.
Tile Installation
The tiles are individually placed onto the adhesive, aligning them with the layout lines and maintaining consistent spacing between each tile.
Grouting
The grout is spread over the tiles using a rubber float, ensuring that the gaps are completely filled. Excess grout is then wiped away, and the tile surface is cleaned.
Curing & Sealing
After the grout has set, the tiles need time to cure and dry. This usually takes a few days, during which the pool should be kept empty or covered to protect the newly installed tiles.

Installing Pools in Challenging Terrain
Installing a swimming pool in challenging terrain can be a difficult task, but it is certainly possible with the right design and construction team.
Steep slopes, rocky terrain, and limited access are common challenges that can make it difficult to install a pool in these types of environments.
Step 1 Site Survey
The first step is to survey the site carefully and identify any potential obstacles or challenges that may need to be addressed. It’s also essential to have a thorough understanding of the site’s geology, drainage, and soil composition to ensure a stable and long-lasting pool.
Step 2 Plan & Execution
After surveying the site and identifying any potential challenges, the design team can begin to develop a plan that takes into account the unique terrain and surroundings. In some cases, retaining walls may need to be built, or the site may need to be excavated to create a level surface for the pool. Other options may include installing a raised pool or partially above ground pool. By working closely with the design and construction team, it is possible to create a pool that seamlessly blends into the landscape while providing a functional and stunning addition to any property.

Excavation
Pool excavation is a critical phase in the pool construction process. This phase determines the dimensions:
depth, shape, and size of your swimming pool and spa.
Shotcrete
We spray the walls and floor of our pools with a minimum of 6 inches of shotcrete, which is then hand trimmed by experienced professionals. The bond beam construction is 12-inches wide by 12-inches deep, as required

SCH40 PVC for our pools’ hydraulic plumbing system. We determine which diameter of pipe to use by calculating the flow rate required by the pumps, filters, spas and water features specified in the pool’s design. All suction ports entering the pool or spa are installed using APSP and ANSI guidelines for safety, and an automatic fill device is installed on all pools to save time and money. The hydraulic system will be pressure tested after completion. This will save time through construction by preventing any unexpected leaks in the system.
Includes pressure test
